This NZ‑specific course builds the capability of electrical supervisors to lawfully exercise control and direction so that PEW is completed competently, safely during the work, and in compliance on completion. Grounded in the EWRB policies and guidelines, it clarifies who may supervise, the limits for trainees and supervised persons, and what supervisors must verify and certify.

Across four modules, you’ll work through legal duties; risk management; and the EWRB policy landscape for supervision, remedial training, interim suspensions/disqualifications, and fit‑and‑proper requirements. Practical scenarios and templates cover isolation and permitting, arc‑flash awareness, toolbox briefings, and documentation, while the included Supervision Logbook evidences at least 40 hours across direct, indirect, and remote modes.

The programme supports evidence preparation toward the EWRB Supervision Endorsement (e.g., verification practice and logbook records); note that any endorsement or licensing outcome is determined at the discretion of the Electrical Workers Registration Board.

• Who can enrol: Registered electrical workers, lead hands, forepersons, site managers.

• Recommended: Current EWRB practising licence; recent safety training/first aid; access to a workplace to complete the supervision logbook.

• Helpful to bring: Recent jobs/scenarios where you supervise or intend to supervise PEW.

• Alignment to NZ law & standards: Electricity Act 1992, Electricity Safety Regulations 2010, HSWA 2015, and AS/NZS 4836 safe working practices. The course shows you how to locate, interpret, and apply these requirements in real jobs.

• EWRB focus: Clarifies who may supervise, what can be done under supervision, and what the supervisor must verify and certify (including PEW limits, Regs 100–101 obligations, and trainee logbook evidence).

• Supervision Endorsement and Electrical Registration class support: Designed to help registered workers meet the knowledge and practice expectations for supervising more than two trainees (per EWRB supervision endorsement). This course supports evidence gathering but does not itself grant or guarantee the endorsement.
